Frankeniphone. . .

it lives. . . . IT LIVES!!!!!

so my iphone took a bath in KFC Coleslaw juice just before my birthday, I ordered a little part to help me crack the case so I could pull it apart and soak the button assembly and lcd in isopropyl alcohol. The part didn't arrive for almost two weeks longer than it was supposed to. I disassembled my iphone three days ago and gave it the bath, and rinsed it in distilled water, and let it dry out for 3 days with some silica gel. This morning I put it all back together, and it started up and is working correctly, the phone is connected to my pc and is charging.

Right now I feel like a tech god.

I always thought iPhones were just hiped up....until I got one. The earth opened, the birds sang, the sun came out....how did I ever live without it I ask! how??

Oooh... how bad was the damage to the case from opening it?
I'm trying to plan ahead for the day I have to replace the battery..

I try to keep mine on-charger as much as possible so as to extend the life as long as possible, but know that eventually the battery will fail. Ah hell, who am I kidding. I'll probably break it long before then, lol.

Re: *hateyou*
hm. keeping it on the charger all the time is a sure way to kill the battery sooner. should probably exercise it, take it out and down at least 50% on a daily basis, and let it get down to 20% about once/month.

just use it "normally", and you should be fine.

yeah, they seemed to do a really good job with the battery on these, btw, Nat and I will be in Portland the week of 8/22-9/2 (- 2 days on each end for the drive) We want to get together for beers. . . is B.U.M and B.U.T.T. still happening?

not to bad, a little scoring from the plastic tool along the aluminum case, and I broke a piece of the speaker cover off the black plastic cover on the back. It's a 2g, and I traded a crappy computer for it. It also resides in a burly rubber case so it's not noticeable at all.

Just received my first call on it, and it sounds good. Need to stop by home and pick up my jawbone though. . .

I almost want mine to randomly get busted so I can have an excuse to blow $300 on the new iPhone.
