I'm really sorely tempted to write a letter to the owner of this store.

Star Costume & Theatrical Supply
3230 S Valley View Blvd 120
Las Vegas, NV

Phone: (702) 731-5014

I called them while en route to their store, to verify they had two lab coats in stock and available. They confirmed they did, But were unwilling to remain open long enough for me to get there, (I was two minutes away) even when offered a $10.00 tip.

I saw them drive out of the parking lot, while I was waiting to turn into it.

I'm really tempted to write a nice long letter to the owners, and make sure and go around and write a bad review at every site I can find that reviews the service of places like this (citysearch, angies list etc)

Yeah, so I'm not even bothering dressing up tonight.

the title of the job is customer service. Especially in a city like Las Vegas, they should take care because people like me get pissed, and will attempt to get them fired, perhaps in their next job they'll get a fucking clue.

Hell, even as a psychic copybitch its pretty much the same, those double doors close at 8:00, no exceptions.. Sure if your in the store and I'm running off your job you'll stay later, you can even meander and pick up other things.. but as a whole the entire store, even the mannagement wants to go the fuck home...

This is what I've learned from the wonderful world of retail.. thank god I'm getting out of here soon.

In related, check the hospitals in the area.. they sometimes sell labcoats, even to joe schmoe off the street

yes but you work for a soulless corporate mega chain. Not an individial store that thrives off of building business relationships with their customers.

I can compare and contrast my work at Alphagraphics, a mom and pop franchise store, as a key operator, where I would routinely help customers and stay late, especially if someone called and told me they were on the way. and were only 4 blocks away.

The title might be Customer Service, but once their scheduled hours are up and the store is closed, the title becomes Not Fucking Working.

Rather than being pissed at the employees, maybe you should have simply left earlier?

if it were an option I would have left earlier. Which is why I called ahead.

Thing is, if you called and they said that they wouldn't stay open, it stands to reason that they would've already counted out the register and put together their deposit by the time you showed up. A couple minutes for you, but probably 10-15 for them. Even beyond that, you weren't able to leave earlier, so is it that unrealistic to consider that they might have had time-sensitive obligations to take care of after work?
