Last night after spinning for a little bit at Miss Amy's birthday party, I packed up and headed over to Goodtimes, a gay club which has been hemorraging clientell, I'm guessing first to Krave, and now to Pihranna which apears to be the place that is drawing off Krave's normal gay crowd as well.
Diablo has secured a night there, and I will be regularly Djing there on Saturday nights starting next week.
With the exceptions, of the black light finger paint male outlines dancing on the walls, it is actually the most industrial venue I've had the opportunity to see in town. And actually, the decore fits in with the whole homoerotic industrial man love thing anyways. . . The dance floor is aluminum plates (smothe) there is a stage and the house gear is pretty damn nice. 4 Go Go poles at each corner of the dance floor, and a amazing, sound system, lights, and a HUGE projection screen.
Easily will hold 100-150 people, we had 45 Come through last night, but I do see us coming near that mark within about 6 months. But with the range of aggressive electronic music, (Noize Tekkno, Gabber, Hardcore, Drill and Bass, Industrial, etc) and a format so very diffrent from krave. I think it will be a little while before we get enough people really into the music who want to come out and enjoy it.
I definately would like to get the word out to the local graver/raver kids, who are over 21 who would definately enjoy the music.
This venue is also somewhere that we can likely do live shows at, and being not directly in competition for acts with Das Bunker makes it easier book people and events and possibly draw some L.A. Crowd.
