Sanctuary @ the Krave Lounge . . . report.

Tonight was fantabulous. . . Barnaby and I opened the night, lots of people showed up and Dj Morningstar excelled, and showed he was capable of keeping people at the club for most of the night. . . Got to Meet Barry, and his Girlfriend Jen, one of the Managers of the DNA lounge in San Fran along with the crew of people who were along wtih him. They were so incredibly happy to find something going on in Las Vegas, as they are here every six months and in the past have found nothing to do. They have told me they will be coming out to check out Subversion as well. It's going to be a kick ass night. I can already feel it. . . I can't wait. . . I just hope I fight this cold off. . . grr. . .

Wish I could go out two nights in a row, but until you add a daycare center to the back of the bistro I'm only getting one social night a week

when do I get to come down and be a mystery guest DJ? lol j/k
I think 'never' is the answer to that one, but I've realized that you can't get a DJ spot unless you practically beg for it, especially now that I'm an unknown here in this city.
do you have playlists online anywhere? I suppose I should probably check the subversion website before I ask that huh...

Re: playlists online anywhere?
Ha. . . It's hard to do a playlist, when no one else wants to be bothered with taking the time to either a) write down what's been played, or B) forward that information to the person who is going to post them online.

Re: playlists online anywhere?
I know it is hard doing the play lists. But you have set the bar in Vegas regarding events & DJing. Set the example - keep doing what you have been doing, and people will notice the extra effort.

Screw the rest of the slackers/un-professionals, IMHO.

Come down, meet the people at the club, bring a demo CD, we'll see what we can to do get you in once we have and idea of what you play.

Some playlists from the past couple of months that made it online:

yeah one of these days I need to get down there. unfortunately due to my joblessness, that also = no money, which = no new CD's in the last 6 months [except Apoptygma and DM]. so right now I don't even know what my playlist would look like, it would probably be mostly old stuff. I really need to get a job ASAP.

what kind of work do you do, what's your background, and have you tried somewhere like appleone? That's where I got in the door at the place I work now.

well I was just about to berate AppleOne for being complete retards here [which was discussed with and agreed upon by someone else in a thread in the vegas commmunity], but I found a job I wanted to apply for today and unfortunately it went through them, so I guess I'll have to put my comments on hold for now.
back in san diego I was with 11 temp agencies and went over 10 months without a job, not having much luck here either so far.

if you're really bored sometime, there are still some of my old radio show playlists up, thanks to the archive thing. the page is long gone, but if you go here, you can see some of the stuff. my last show was in 2003 so again it'll be old, but at least you can get an idea. nothing great but whatever.. that's why I said leave it for a time when you're totally bored..

Thank you!!
Thank you so much. We had a great time. Sorry we didn't make it out to Subversion. Was hoping Brian (stitch), Brian, Ryan, or one of the others would call and let us know what time, location etc... as I had left the flyer at the hotel and didn't remember the name of the venue or event. (thanks to all the booze the previous night). We had fun anyway, we went to Beauty Bar and then to the Double Down.
Do you have contact info for Blur? He took some pics that I'd love to see.
Also, FYI, Jenn is not my girlfriend, just partner in crime.
Is there a regularly maintained Sanctuary web page?

Re: Thank you!!
Heya, I added you to my friends list. . . I do have contact info for Blue at home (Phone number), i need to call him and get him to e-mail me the pics for that night, they turned out really good.

Re: jenn, sorry for the innacurracy of my post. I thought she had been introduced as your girlfriend. . . my mistake.

As of yet, we do not have a regularly maintained sanctuary Web Page other than the events page available off of the main krave website. Which links to the current flyer for the night

It is one thing I would definately like to see expanded upon and more content and features added to.
